What is Edgy Otter?

Edgy Otter is an organisation that offers a range of high quality and entertaining therapy workshops for practising clinicians. They are aimed to be very practical and applicable to real-world problems and people that are seen in everyday clinical practice. Edgy Otter is run by Blake Stobie (www.londonpsychologist.co.uk) and Dr Nick Grey, who are both consultant psychologists at a specialist CBT Centre.

Who can attend the workshops?

The workshops are designed for therapists from all professional backgrounds and specialties, with varying levels of clinical experience. Previous workshops have been attended by clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, counsellors, counselling psychologists, forensic psychologists, occupational therapists and nurse therapists.

Who are the presenters?

All the presenters at Edgy Otter workshops are experienced skilled therapists who provide national and international workshops. They are all currently active clinicians and supervisors, providing specialist therapy training.

How many people will attend each workshop?

The absolute maximum capacity for any workshop is 50 people. This is in contrast to the often very large audiences that these presenters usually entertain (or that other well known trainers encourage). We have found that with 20 - 50 people there is ample opportunity for audience participation and questions.

How do I book a workshop?

Click on the "Booking Form" link above and complete the booking form. Send this, together with payment or invoice details to Blake Stobie (address at bottom of booking form)"

What do I get for my money?

First and foremost you get a very high quality CBT workshop from cutting-edge presenters, together with extremely comprehensive handouts (all slides and additional materials) and attendance certificates. In addition you will have the opportunity to meet other therapists with similar interests. The facilities at the Brunei Gallery are excellent and all refreshments (tea, coffee, lunch) are included in the price.

How do I qualify for discounted rates?

If you book more than one workshop in the same booking then 10% will be taken off the total price. Hence if you wish to attend two one-day workshops at £175 each the total price will be £315. Furthermore if you or your Trust wish to send a number of participants to the same workshop we can offer 5 places for the price of 4. Hence 5 people attending the same one-day workshop will cost £700 rather than £875.

Can I get CPD points / accreditation?

Most professional organisations do not now formally accredit individual workshops. Instead they view each workshop within an individual’s CPD log and judge whether it has suitable merit. We are confident that all our workshops are high quality and will be an invaluable part of your ongoing professional development. All one-day workshops will count for 6 hours CPD time (9.30-4.30, with one hour for lunch) and High Anxiety will count for 12 hours. Signed attendance certificates will be distributed at the end of each workshop.
