CBT for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder - £175

The workshop outlines a cognitive model of PTSD and  illustrates the different aspects of the model clinically using case presentations. The techniques used in current treatment programmes are described in detail and illustrated with clinical material and videotapes. The workshop will cover reliving, in vivo work, and cognitive interventions for patients with overgeneralised sense of danger, misinterpretation of PTSD symptoms, anger, shame or guilt, amongst others.

Supervising using CBT - £175

This workshop is designed to help supervisors deal with issues that arise during the course of supervision, using cognitive therapy principles and techniques. Participants will be able to discuss examples of problems they have experienced. Participants are expected to have some experience of supervising in order to attend. A variety of interactive methods will be used throughout, including small group exercises, role play and discussion.
An interactive, practical workshop based on case material and following the techniques used from start to finish. The workshop will present current techniques and strategies for working with clients with OCD, as well as new models of working such as intensive treatments. Clinically relevant current research in the area will also be presented.

CBT for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder ***

We are seeking the views of qualified therapists for PhD research which we are conducting. This will involve participants observing some material and completing a questionnaire based on their opinions. This task should take 30 - 60 mins in total, and will be completed at the start of this workshop. *** Please note that we are prepared to offer this workshop at no cost to qualified therapists who will be attending or who have attended other Edgy Otter workshops, who are prepared to participate in this research, and who arrive on time for the workshop. Places will be limited to the first 50 applicants.

This workshop provides a transdiagnostic approach to treating ‘real-world’ anxiety using the latest CBT techniques. Includes techniques to formulate and treat anxiety-based problems in clients who present with combinations of panic attacks, worry, rumination etc. - as found in Panic Disorder, Specific Phobias, PTSD, OCD, Hypochondriasis and Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and in people with broader difficulties who may not fit into neat diagnostic categories.
